Important Notice for Visitors to Izola: Change in Parking Regulations at Veliki trg

One of the most popular parking lots in the very center of town—Veliki trg (near the small pier)—is completely closed to tourists and short-term paid parking. To avoid fines and having your vehicle towed, please familiarize yourself with the new rules and alternative parking options.

As of June 15, the parking lot at Veliki trg has been removed from the list of paid public parking lots. Under the new rules, only residents and holders of special permits for the old town center may park there. General parking by purchasing a parking ticket at a parking meter or via the visitor app is no longer possible here.

Since Veliki trg is closed to visitors, you can leave your car at the following nearby paid parking lots:

• Ladjedelnica Parking – a large parking lot at the entrance to the historic center, one of the most convenient options for long-term parking.
• Lonka Parking – located right next to the city center and the promenade, ideal for shorter visits (fills up quickly during the season).
• Pošta Parking – parking zones in the pedestrian zone or in the immediate vicinity of the city center.
