I’ve been living in Izola and welcoming guests since 2020. During that time, I’ve learned one thing: a great vacation on the coast doesn’t depend on the number of stars a hotel has, but on whether you know where to go. Where to park so you don’t overpay. Which beach is best for kids and which one is perfect for enjoying the sunset. Which restaurant serves excellent grilled food and where to find the best ice cream. I started this website for my guests—and now it’s available to everyone.

My goal is to help you have the best vacation on the Slovenian coast—without unnecessary expenses, tourist traps, or stress.

Izola

Izola is a small fishing town with seven beaches and the best pizza on the Slovenian coast. It’s quieter compared to Portorož and Koper. This is where our apartments are located, and this is where the development of this guide began. Koper

Koper is the capital of the Slovenian coast and the only true cargo port. There are fewer tourists here than in Izola or Piran, so it offers a lively local atmosphere, a good fish market, and a surprisingly beautiful old town center with Tito Square at its heart. Which beach on the Slovenian coast should you choose?

The coast offers everything: from well-maintained municipal beaches with all the amenities to wild, hidden coves beneath the cliffs. For example, Bele skale delights visitors with its beautiful pebble beach and crystal-clear water, but getting there isn’t the easiest. On the other hand, the Svetilnik city beach is, in my opinion, the best choice for an evening swim at sunset.

How to Park Without Stress or Overpaying?

Coastal towns, peak season, and the fact that it’s your first time in town? Parking on the Slovenian coast in the summer can be quite a challenge. Blue zones are paid parking, but the rules and prices vary widely.
