Diversorio – accommodations in Izola and a guide to the Slovenian coast. Everything you need for a getaway in Piran, Strunjan, and other towns in the region. We’ve been living in Izola since 2017 and have been welcoming guests since 2020.
Diversorio is a cozy guesthouse in the heart of Izola and a guide for travelers along the Slovenian Adriatic coast.
Our project grew out of questions our guests asked us: where to find a sandy beach, how to avoid overpaying for parking, and where to find the best grilled fish? We decided to pool all our experiences and answer these questions.
We’ve organized the guide by city—Izola, Piran, Portorož, Koper, Strunjan — and in each one, we’ve analyzed in detail everything you need for your vacation:
- Parking and Transportation: where’s the best place to park, where the 24-hour parking rate applies, and how the city’s public transit system works.
- Beaches: from well-maintained concrete piers with lifeguards to wild pebble coves.
- Restaurants: local taverns, the best barbecue, seafood, cafes with the most beautiful views, and authentic wine cellars.
- Activities: hiking trails and boat trips, bike and SUP rentals, the Parenzana trail, and the most beautiful viewpoints.
- Events and Tips: where to find local markets, which festivals and concerts you shouldn’t miss, and how to plan your trip.
Take advantage of our expertise, fall in love with Slovenia, and book a room at Diversorio to be right in the heart of this wonderful region!
About the Author
Olga · I’ve been living in Izola since 2017
In 2017, my family and I moved to Izola, bought an old house in the historic city center, and have been renovating it for several years now—slowly, without rushing, with the desire to create a beautiful and comfortable home.
Since 2018, I’ve been welcoming guests from all over the world and seeing the excitement with which people discover Izola and the Slovenian Adriatic. During this time, I’ve gotten to know the region quite well: I have my favorite walking trails, tried-and-true restaurants, and beaches where we go swimming ourselves. I’m always on the lookout for new spots so I can share my discoveries and tried-and-true tips with you on the pages of this guide.
In addition to tourism, I create watercolors—mostly of Izola, the coast, and my favorite Izola seagulls.
